ALL my NEWS FROM 2021 to TODAY
My news 2023

Tom Gueant Golf Champion December 2023 : 2023 will have been a year of transition during which I worked a lot on all parts of my golf.

I finally found the right golf coach with Jeff Smith. He's a great coach not because he coaches PGA players, but because we speak the same language, we share the same vision of things. He is also a visionary of what the golf of the future should be...

The few competitions I have done, particularly in Europe, have happened moderately often due to external events, such as a golf bag that did not arrive with the plane, time differences, big temperature differences, leaving at the wrong time, 2 car accidents, a wrist injury, food poisoning, cheaters...

In short, it will have been rich in events and above all very educational.

Paradoxically, my golf game has never been so good but I lacked consistency probably because of the work undertaken to be able to reach the highest level but I had to go through that.

A lot of people ask me “But when do you go PRO…!” »
I admit that it really pisses me off...

What people don't understand is that it's a whole process to go PRO if you want to do it in good conditions. To go PRO you have to pass cards to access the different circuits and the acces cards are only once a year…

I want to play on the PGA so I need to access the Korn Ferry Tour. It’s as if I were taking the entrance exam to the biggest school in the world… It’s at a very, very high level where competition is like nowhere else.

So it takes a lot of work to prepare…

I left college at 20 because I was ahead in school and entered college at Oregon at 16. In hindsight it was too young... So with a normal school curriculum, it’s like I left university in June 2023…

I have been living in an apartment in West Palm Beach for a few weeks with my friend Isabella Fiero who is going to play on the LPGA… This too is a new adventure for me 😊

In any case a HUGE THANK YOU to all those who help and support me because without them there would be no PGA…

I can’t wait for 2024…

My news 2022

Tom Gueant Champion de golf November 2022 : Today I moved to Florida in West Palm Beach. I am welcomed by Thomas and Caroline LEVET.
It is an incredible chance.
They are adorable and Thomas is a real enthusiast, he gives me a lot of info on the professional world...
They introduce me to their friends, we can play great rounds of golf on superb golf courses.
I am where I wanted to be...

Tom Gueant Champion de golf June 2022 : Take 2 final exams, empty my apartment, say goodbye to my friends...
I got my Major in Math & Computer Science at the age of 20.
According to the golf coaches, a first in golf anyway....

After 10 days of madness in Eugene I return to France on June 5th. Two days later I fly back to Manchester to finally play the British amateur. First recognition very well. For the second my father caught the... Covid...
But I continue with the 1st round which is going well despite an average putting. On the other hand, they make me leave for the first part the next day, which makes me get up at 4:30 in the morning.
As I have not yet recovered from the 9 hours of jet lag I only sleep 2h30...
I'm having a nightmarish day...
Back home...
Well not with the covid...
Direction Spain for the European Championships.
We spend 2 days at the PGA Catalunya Golf Course.
I am really very tired.
And there I hurt my right wrist as soon as I warmed up.
The catastrophe !! I still try to play but the pain is such that my father stops me at 16...
This time back home...
6400 km by car in 10 days...
We need rest....

Tom Gueant Champion de golf May 2022 : The end of the tunnel came towards the end of April. The fatigue disappeared as suddenly as it arrived. Also here in Eugene, it rains every day. It's incredible I've only had about ten days of sunshine since JANUARY!! In addition it's cold... I decide to go by car to Palo Alto where there is Stanford. It's 900 km further south and it's sunny and hot: 25°C! It's a place I love with amazing practice facilities and a golf course that I particularly like having played 62 in my last competition on it. Coach Conrad Ray offers me to come and do my 5th year with them at Stanford! At the time, I don't really want to because I would like to finally devote myself 100% to mais golf, given the enthusiasm of some, I say to myself why not...
Unfortunately after a few weeks, Maynes, it will not be possible because we were out of time. I would have had to pass a Gmath exam to go for a master's degree and the only possibility was at the end of August so it was impossible to join Stanford before January so it was impossible to play for the team....

Anyway, I am called up to the France team mid-May to play a France / England match which will also allow me to play Gounouilhou with My beloved club Terre Blanche to try to get a historic hat-trick...

Another marathon that begins mais I really wanted as much as the form returned. 24 hours of travel, 3 planes and 9 hours of delay... I return to the maison on Sunday evening at 8 p.m. We leave on Tuesday morning at 8am for Paris. I play Golf National at the end of the afternoon with Benoît Telleria. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday recce on the Saint Nom la Bretèche golf course. 36 holes of foursomes and matchplays on Saturday and Sunday.
Unfortunately we lose by little against an England team which does not have its best players...

On Sunday evening I arrive at 2am at the maison. On Tuesday we leave at 8am heading south and the Pont Royal golf course. I am happy to see my friends from the Terre Blanche team as well as Vincent Jouhaud and Stephan Pollet the captain. I play my recce at noon and the next day I turn in a card of -6 mais I have to go quickly to catch up on my lessons and do my homework. A +1 the next Mayn will allow me to win the strockes with 3 moves in advance. mais to everyone's surprise we get beaten by Saint GerMayn in the quarter-finals, even if I win my matchplay in 12.
I have to admit we took a big hit in the back of the head.
Yet Stephan and Vincent have prepared this competition as well as possible. I honestly don't see what more they could have done. Maybe with us players an overconfidence??
In any case, of the different teams I've played with, it's really the most professional by far.

No time to gamberger I take the plane at 7am to return to Eugene for 10 days of madness.

Tom Gueant Champion de golf February 2022 : 3 days before leaving for Hawaii to play one of the most beautiful competitions of the year, during a sports session in a cross-fit room, I caught covid for the first time.

damn covid...

And since I don't do anything like the others, I take a long covid! I will take 2 and a half months to recover. I got up in the morning exhausted, I went to class until 11 am/noon then I had to go to sleep for at least 1 hour.
I would then run golf with the team then physical training then homework...

I was wondering if one day I would see the end of the tunnel...

Tom Gueant Champion de golf January 2022 :

Before going back to Eugene in Oregon, I have to do a French team internship in Dubai. I'm leaving a few days early because I have to come back earlier mais finally the course will be canceled at the last minute... I can still discover this very special place, play very good quality golf there just before the players arrive of the European Tour does not start like the Yas Links, a marvel. It is a link at the water's edge and especially right next to the circuit where a month earlier the Formula 1 drivers were fighting for the title of world champion...

My news 2021

Tom Gueant Champion de golf December 2021 :

I return to the maison for 3 weeksMaynes. The quarter was difficult. Since I announced to Casey that I will not be doing a 5th year where Covid has made it possible, he has been making my life hard... His wife divorced him and he had his disabled leg amputated, which doesn't didn't fix anything. What's more, we are 17 in the team whereas normally it's 9 or 10 players. As a result, more team spirit, permanent qualifications, no one understands the goal...

Tom Gueant Golf Champion September 2021 :

I'm going back to college in Oregon on August 31. Each time it's 3 planes, 24 hours of travel and 9 hours of jet lag... So I arrive on Tuesday evening. Wednesday morning physical tests, afternoon medical tests. 7 a.m. training on Thursday. 36 qualifying holes on Friday. I play -7 in the morning and - 4 in the afternoon mais you can imagine that I'm dead from dead...
I thought I could rest on the weekend mais no! Casey Martin makes us play another qualifier on Saturday plus one on Sunday! And we fly to the Arizona desert (45°) on Monday for a tournament.
I arrive there exhausted...
Our Coach with his handicap has never traveled outside the US. He doesn't realize what a journey as long as mine is. And unfortunately our super assistant Coach Brad Lanning left because because of the Covid they reduced his salary by 30%. If he had been there, with his kindness, his benevolence, his humanity he would not have let it happen... A HUGE THANK YOU Brad for the very beautiful person that you are!
His replacement is non-existent and will be all the year...
I'm trying to negotiate with Casey to be able to come back to play the Gounouilhou Trophy with my Terre Blanche mais team, it's a definite no... My friends from the team I'm trying to follow live WIN this Gounouilhou for a double historical. CONGRATULATIONS guys. I say RESPECT!!

Tom Gueant Golf Champion August 2021 : Before going back to college in Oregon, I was offered my first parachute jump with my friend Alexandre Bortolotti... What a kick!!

I made the decision to go for a challenge tour in Denmark by asking the Federation and Antoine Delon for a WC. mais before I made another decision which was to modify my swing a bit to be ready for the resumption of university competitions in September.
Well I shouldn't have! In fact, it messed up my swing. I learned that by always wanting to do better, you can do worse... This being this first challenge tour allowed me, always with the help of the federation, to be caddyed by a cad from the European Tour: Tom Ayling
What an experience! He certainly taught me more about the game of golf and strategy than anyone else. Caddy is a real job at this level! THANK YOU Tom.

Tom Gueant Champion de golf June - July 2021: No time to take a breather, you have to finish the end-of-year exams and hop back to France for a new marathon of competitions. Barely 10 days at La maison and heading to the individual European championships in Bordeaux. 2 days of recce followed by 4 rounds. Well the first 2 means the last 2 and a disappointing 17th place for me.

Still no time to breathe, very early the next day on Monday I fly directly to Bordeaux for Manchester and play the qualifying final for The Open. The Covid protocol is binding despite an ELITE AHTLETE EXEMPTION. Test before leaving, test on arrival, ban on taking a taxi to reach the hotel requisitioned for players and their caddies. Thanks to Srixon I have a professional caddy for the first time in the person of Joe Miller30 years of PGA LPGA LET European Tour experience... And what's more, he's a great guy. We do the reconnaissance of the course on Tuesday. Wednesday 36 holes planned. In the morning I play very well -4 and 2nd in qualifying. We have 45 minutes between the 2 rounds and a ban on eating at the cover club where only members can enter even though they are not tested... Go figure... We attack on the grass to eat a sandwich . The recovery is difficult, I have no more energy, this pose cut my legs. This is my 9th round in 8 days... Once back in the rhythm I finished well mais not enough to qualify with 3 shots... so close to the goal of playing my first Major...

I return the same day to the maison for 2 days only because I have to go to Spain for this time the European team championships with the French team.
The competition takes place at PGA Catalunya. Superb competition with a super-group and above all a super Captain that is Antoine Delon. He is for me the best Captain that France has had even if I did not know them all of course. I THANK YOU Antoine for all that you bring us and for the beautiful person that you are. Our Captain Antoine breathes a touch of madness into our team which takes us to the final after some epic match-plays, especially in the semis against the Spaniards. Unfortunately we lose against Denmark.

It was 18 days of virtually non-stop golf. It was exhausting and frustrating at the same time. Victory isn't far away, but she's not here... and for me, that's all that matters...

Tom Gueant Golf Champion May 2021 : And we're still chaining the tournaments... Because of the covid and the removal of the 1st quarter tournaments, we're going to chain 8 tournaments in 11 weeks Maynes!! A record probably...
And just because we're in tournaments doesn't mean we don't have homework...
On the contrary, we have to make up for missed lessons and do the required homework with just a little extra time to return it .
I've lost count of the nights I've only slept 3 or 4 hours... I sometimes envy my friends who have chosen an "easy" degree, they can sleep well... Doing math late in the night when you are really tired after a hard day of competition is not a cakewalk and prevents me from having the free spirit to play golf...
Two weeks without tournaments feels good and we are off to the PAC 12 final and the Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships with a 17th place then the regional qualifiers NCAA Cle Elum Regional with a 11th place

All Pac 12 Second Team

Another nomination in the team of my PAC 12 conference

My two great friends Yuki Moriyama & Craig Ronne

Tom Gueant Champion de golf April 2021 : No time to rest, we continue with the Wyoming Cowboy Classic with a small 28th place and following seMayne with the 74th Annual Western Intercollegiate on the magnificent and very difficult Pasatiempo Golf Club course in Santa Cruz. Putting at half mast on these crazy greens and a 23rd place.
Small consolation, I am named player of the month of my conference.

Golfer of the Month Pac 12

Tom Gueant Golf Champion 2021 : It's the Spring Break seMayne which, aside from Christmas, is the only mais school holiday seMayne not for us. We will chain 2 competitions in the week Mayne. The first begins with our tournament organized at our home at Eugène Country Club.
Wake up Monday at 4:30 a.m. (it stings) for a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. and off we go for 36 holes non stop...
Tuesday morning 3rd round... and a nice 3rd place for less than 2 shots away from victory.
mais no time to breathe we take the plane 2 hours later to California at Stanford for the second tournament, The Goodwin .
On Wednesday recce of the magnificent mais difficult Stanford course.
The first 2 rounds follow on Thursday and Friday.

The Goodwing
Little sleep since Monday mais on Saturday will stay etched in my memory for a very long time. I chain the birdies on the way mais a bogey at 9 with a 3 putts stops me and well no I continue in an overexcited atmosphere. Lots of people follow my game, even mais partners of the day, encouraging me feeling that I can break the 60 mark... Even our super assistant coach Brad Lanning, who is usually calm Olympian, run everywhere. I stay zen mais I have high cardio like jamais. I make very good golf shots, I'm in birdie position on almost every hole mais the putts, despite being good, don't go in and I play 62.
mais not enough to win so again 3rd this weekMayne at 1 shot...
I enter a little more in the history of my university by equaling the lowest score ever mais achieved , equals the course record and according to my coach Casey Martin (who studied at Stanford with Tiger Woods) it is the first time that a player has made 3 birdies 3 days in a row on difficult hole 12...
What a week!!

Score 62 golf

The second week of despite a flu, I go with my team to play the Bandon Dunes Championship. Bandon is a very special place that I love. There was nothing and a wealthy American Mike Keizer decided to create 5 incredible courses there, 2 of which are already part of the world's Top 50 of the most beautiful courses in the world.
All passionate golfers must know this place.
A small 36th place not worthy of this course...

Tom Gueant Champion de golf February 2021 : A few days before leaving to play The Prestige, my head as a Ping driver split on the top while hitting a drive at the driving range… Panic!! mais Ping reacted very quickly by sending me a new driver 3 days later supposed to be the same…. mais there was a difference somewhere because I had trouble driving straight with it… So we had to deal with this problem for the 2 tournaments played in 1 weekMayne.
The first The Prestige on the PGA West in La Quinta, California was very, very complicated. A long and demanding course of precision... To which is added a very average putting... A 77th place unfortunately quickly forgotten.

Besides, no time to think because the next Mayn recce for the next tournament which follows, a visit to Dave Stockton for a putting session the afternoon after the recce.
A course where my 2 iron is sufficient despite the wind brings a correct 8th place.
SeMayne so exhausting with in addition lessons and homework every day…

Tom Gueant Golf Champion January 2021 : At the end of January we resumed the university competitions that we had stopped since 2020... And for this resumption in Arizona we were spoiled in terms of weather. The first day stormy wind, 45 min minutes of interruption because the balls blocked on the greens and 7 hours of play... Very exhausting day mais a 4th place after this first round.
And the next dayMayn oh snow surprise!! Suddenly staggered departures at noon and in shootgun. I find myself in the 2nd tee on hole 5. I hate the cold, I have the Mayns and my feet tingle very quickly… Hard and long day!! On the 3rd lap the snow disappeared, but not the wind or the shootgun and yet another start on hole 14... A 44th place in the end.
The referees really need to enforce the playing times because 3 rounds in more than 6 hours is no longer possible.
This term is going to be very difficult academically. I am majoring in Math and Computer science and I have a lot of work with 2 high level math classes. Even during tournaments I have to work and that leaves me nights of 4 or 5 hours of sleep… Really not easy…

My best wishes for health and happiness to my supporters.

Best Wishes Tom Gueant
